Good places to go hiking if you are not visiting the park
10 minutes from the house, you will find a great hiking trail along the Merced River. This is a perfect half-day outing. In summer, do this early morning or late afternoon. The trail is 5 miles long and an easy hike. In spring, you will also see rafters paddling the river. To get there, drive to Briceburg (6 miles) and park your car along the river near the visitor center.
