Sightseeing
Available for hiking, kayaking, canoeing or camping! A must visit in the Spring through Fall. The Jamaica State Park is just a short walk or bike ride down the street from our home. Comprising of over 770 acres, the park has several miles of trails. The old railroad bed is now used as the main trail that leads along the West River to Ball Mountain Dam.
The Green Mountains are not only known for their lush foilage, but also for their streams and brooks. Whether it is a result of snow melt, rain or an artesian spring the pristine water meanders through the mountains carving through the rocks, filling ponds and lakes, providing an ecosystem for trout, beaver and other wildlife. Finding the path of least resistance the water rewards us with incredible waterfalls.
Hamilton Falls, Pike Falls and Lye Brook Falls are three of the many waterfalls located within minutes.
