Cholla Trail is located along the ridge of Camelback Mountain, the highest point in the Phoenix Mountain at 2,704 ft. Hikers experience a steady 1.6 mile climb with a fairly exposed section of ridge hiking towards the top.

Valley Metro Rail runs over 25 miles on a single line from midtown Phoenix, Downtown Phoenix, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Downtown Tempe, ASU Tempe Campus and Mesa. There are 9 station stops in Tempe. Valley Metro Rail provides schedules and maps to plan your travel.

Always have your sunscreen handy!
You may have heard the saying ‘it’s a dry heat.’ That is the rule of thumb most of the year in Tempe. Surprisingly we do have a rainy season in spring and the monsoons bring thunderstorms in July and August. But it is mostly sunny meaning that even with cloudy weather, the sun can still be intense. Therefore, be sure to use sunscreen, lip balm and wear a hat while hiking, biking or playing outside.
