Informazioni sulla città/località

Camogli is a lovely fishermen town on the coast, name means "home of wives" as many men were sailors in the past (Cà= casa - Mogli), it's a must-see and also perfect for a swim :-) On the trip the boat should stop as well in a fantastic place called "San Fruttuoso" which is an old convent reachable only by the sea or via hiking. There's a beach as well but small and usually very crowded, there are Covid restrictions for the access so jump out of the boat only if you don't see hell-crowded. There are bar and restaurant but a bit more expensive. Boat then goes to Portofino. can be reached by train as well, approx 20' from Genova Principe

approx 50/60' ith slow train or 35/40 with fast ones: it is my hometown and i love it, but i really think is a not-to-miss as well, you can spend a nice day having a bath and walking around as well, city has "two seas" and in the pic you can see both, the small baia is really amazing!

Walking around and come back by Metro

It's great to walk around Genova and breath the atmosphere, spend some hours around, visit sights, make some shopping... and then come back with a comfortable Metro trip! "Darsena" station is just in front of the building

Parking places

There is a public parking just in front of the building, but of course being in the city center it is not the cheapest rate you can find... If you plan to stay a few days a good choice is to park your car for just 6€ a day in the recently built "Di Negro" parking and reach our flat with a 2-stops Metro ride

Churches - general rules

There are hundreds of interesting churches in Genova, as in the rest of italy. Entrance is normally free of charge and you can walk around without restrictions inside. Do not forget anyhow that they are sacred places, and local people go there to pray and for religious reasons only: keep good sense rules as wear proper clothes, keep silence, do not shoot too many photos (especially if there are ongoing ceremonies), do not use any flash and keep your child around avoiding them to be noisy. This will also help you to breath the sacred atmosphere of the place!

Safety - historic center

Generally speaking, historic center of the city is a quite safe place, especially in daytime. Of course as everywhere in the world, normal precautions have to be taken to not encourage pickpockets. Avoid anyhow to chose empty and narrow alleys if you're not sure of where you're going and especially in nighttime stay always in the most crowded parts, it is still part of good-sense decisions. If you feel like you turned the wrong corner and you're "in the wrong place" go back to where you feel more comfortable.
