THINGS TO NOTE:
-No reception once you get into Trona & throughout the park (plan your trip & route beforehand!)
-Always check to see park hours and if they are open
-The drive to the start of park is about 1 hr 25 minutes from Ridgecrest, but you must use g00gle maps. Other maps will take you around the mountain making the drive 2 hrs. The park is HUGE and can take another 1-2 hrs to attractions.
-Recommended itinerary from Ridgecrest
1. Mosaic canyon trail
2.mesquite dunes
3. furnace creek visitors center
4. artist drive & artist pallet
5. devils golf course
6. badwater basin
This itinerary is highly doable for a day trip to the park.

Make this a day trip & you won’t be disappointed! Definitely a lot more going on during the spring through fall. The cutest quaint town with the Kern River flowing through it. It’s about one hour away & the route is scenic!
Easy to moderate trail that leads to the Kern River in Kernville. Perfect for families. Head over to E Wings on the river for lunch or dinner afterwards!
