Only 6.5 miles away from the chalet, discover unique indoor & outdoor seating areas as you enjoy tasty selections from the deli and ice cream service area. Find a seat in the creamery's tasting room, where one can indulge in a cheese tray featuring local faire and pair with a gorgeous bottle of French or Italian wine from the on site bottle shop. Gather luxury food selections to take with you back to the chalet in the main shop.

If you're taking Hwy 35 anytime during your trip, this is a good area to stop. It is 45 minutes from the chalet. Shop antiques and other unique finds at Old Stuff. 30 years ago, owners Fred & Kathy converted an old gas station into this sweet boutique. Woodworkers and crafty people will enjoy Fred's woodworking area, where he makes anything to his heart's content, from doll houses to carousel horses to American flag art. Have a nice chat with these fine folks, then stop next door to fill up on gas.

Between September through October (and very early November too), the town is dripping in all things fall related. The festive scenery changes every year but it has a common theme of positivity, fun, and light heartedness. Wait 'til you see what occurs on the grassy area between the Eagle Center and the Wabasha bridge-- a play area for both young and the young at heart! Slide down the enclosed tunnel slide, throw rings & balls, play life-size games, the list goes on! Certain days will have a live animal petting zoo and other special events. Your kids can take a train ride through the streets (get on under the bridge, donations accepted) and mosey through a pint-size hay maze.
Snap a picture next to one of many life-size characters, browse the largest pumpkin contest winners (under the Wabasha bridge). This long standing event will have you wandering all corners of Wabasha to see what else they've done to dress up the town! Free of charge, unless otherwise stated for particular events. Donations accepted, near the large pumpkins under the bridge. Don't miss Septoberfest!
