Food scene

Spokane local's favorite diner! This place has the best food and the friendliest staff. On your best nights, the nights where you really have fun, this is your last and final stop. This is where you stumble in, tired, maybe a little tipsy, at 2:30 am (it’s open until 4) and eat what you’ve been craving. Pancakes. Omelets. Buffalo chicken wraps. The Steamer burger. If you dare, dive into the extreme menu, including The Billy Breen, a bacon burger with grilled cheese sandwiches for buns.

Best Coffee in Spokane

All the cool kids go to Indaba. You walk in either location (downtown or west central) and you’ll see the creme-de-la-creme of Spokane’s coffee scene; but you’ll also see a company that has a heart for the neighborhoods it resides in. They roast their own beans and work hard to support other local businesses. And just in case you were wondering, the coffee is AMAZING! The two different locations have very different vibes; downtown is modern and minimal and the West Central shop is warm and cozy. You can’t go wrong with either one!

Adventure

This short hike boasts a lot of bang for your buck. At just 2.1 miles, the loop won't take too long, but you'll enjoy views of an impressive river, rocky outcroppings, and some expansive views. Start out by hiking across a swinging bridge at Bowl & Pitcher. This impressive bridge was built -- like so many structures on trails in the Spokane area -- by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). From the bridge, you can see large basalt structures rising out of the river as you cross into Riverside State Park. Once you're across the bridge, decide whether you're going to head upstream or downstream. Heading downstream, you'll pass rapids on the Spokane River, a CCC camp (perhaps where they were staged while building the bridge) and a basalt bench with views of the river. Choosing the upstream path offers an closer look at the basalt formations in and near the river. Whichever way you go, you'll find a route across the river and back to the trailhead, creating a loop trip.
