The Byron School of Art offers support for emerging and established artists as well as being an encouraging platform for those seeking introduction into the field. Courses are run by nationally recognised professional artists, who bring to the school a passion for their practice combined with extensive experience teaching at community and tertiary levels. They offer short courses and weekend workshops throughout the year. You can also join the mailing list to stay up to date on events and news, including rotating exhibitions. To see what others are saying about BSA, check out The Art Life’s Top 100 for 2019—with the BSA Team coming in at Number 85—and Art Collector’s April–June 2019 print magazine issue listing BSA as one of a handful of art schools in Australia turning out the best talent. Byron School of Clay is Byron Bay's only pottery and ceramic art school. I went to a beginner's class and made four bowls (some of them were actually bowl like) using a pottery wheel. It was great fun and I highly recommend it. They run regular courses for beginners. If you're more advanced, you can drop in for a session. Wheel throwing and hand building opens up many creative possibilities. Using only your hands, clay and a few simple tools, pottery can be a meditative and captivating experience. Experiences If you're looking for something a little special, you can book a private wheel throwing workshop. bsoc.com.au info@bsoc.com.au
