a place to learn and admire the riches of the Riverina
a place to reflect and honour the fallen. Shady oaks and exotic trees provide many spots for a picnic and there is a children's playground, sensory gardens, and stage where you might be fortunate to see a free concert during the Summer. New year's Eve and the city hosts a concert here with fireworks at 9pm and midnight. stroll under the bridge or across the road to the lagoon, Civic Theatre, City Library and Civic Centre.

From the Sporting Hall of Fame where you will see stories and pictures of the legendary Peter Sterling, Chris Mortimer and his brothers, Phil Daniher or Melanie Twit. from the He came from Here are stories of the local Diggers who saved our country in WWI, or the bushrangers and Tichbourne Trial. don't forget that Sir Thomas Blamey, VC, was born here and the Lake Albert hotel is named after him.

Sightseeing

the fast flowing Murrumbidgee winds through Wagga Wagga and has been the source of several Floods in the 180 year life of this city. it's iconic beach is home to leafy Eucalyptus and Willow trees under which relaxed times can be spent. In the summer, every fourth Friday of the months, the city hosts Fork n Pork and Markets at the Wagga Beach. in February the traditional and famous Gumi Race is run where participants float down the river on hand made rafts of inner tubes and crazy antics are sure to be seen between rafts vying for the finish line. although that aim doesn't always seem obvious as it is more fun to stay on the river and sabotage the opponents with water fights. a must see.
