The Klang River has long winded through Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur. Over the years & in the wake of rapid development - the river became increasingly polluted. However all this changed in 2012, when the Kuala Lumpur City Hall launched an initiative to reconnect the city, the river & her people. Locals & tourists alike enjoy visiting the area for views of the confluence of the river & also of the Masjid Jamek Mosque (recognised as the oldest Islamic place of worship in Kuala Lumpur). *E-STAYS TIP* - Visit at night for the pretty lights. - Or visit during the day & wander around as the area is in close proximity to surrounding attractions such as: Central Market, Petaling Street / Chinatown, Sri Mahamariamman Temple, Sin Sze Si Ya Temple, KL Forest Eco Park & more!

Temples

It isn't hard to believe that Batu Caves is one of KL’s most frequented tourist attractions. A limestone hill comprising three major caves (and a number of smaller ones), located approximately 11 kilometres to the north of Kuala Lumpur - this 100yr old temple features idols and statues erected inside the main caves and around it. The limestone formations are said to be around 400 million years old & the temple is considered an important religious landmark by Hindus. *E-STAYS TIPS* - Unless you don't mind renting a sarong at the bottom of the cave, be sure to wear long pants that fall below your knees. - Store food & drink away as the monkeys are ruthless & will grab anything they deem as edible! - Go early or later as the afternoon sun can be intense for those who aren't used to climbing steep flights of stairs. OPENING HOURS: Daily: 6am - 9pm TICKET PRICES: Free entry
