The summit of Haleakalā is stunning any time of day or night, but sunrise is the most popular activity. Ask Pamela how to get reservations for the sunrise experience. You wonʻt need a reservation if you go up after 7am. There are many levels of hiking available in the Natʻl Park, and the stars at night are beyond compare. Lastly, if you canʻt get reservations for sunrise, sunSET is quite beautiful at the summit as well.

Between late December and early April, donʻt miss the humpback whales visiting Maui. I like The Ultimate Whale Watch out of Lahaina harbor, because they never take more than 18 people, so everyone gets a front row seat. Theyʻre great at finding whales, and very knowledgable. I also like the Kai Kanani, which sails out of the Wailea area.

Food Trucks Galore!!!
Use GPS to get you to "Longs Drugstore Kula", and in the parking lot next to Longs, youʻll find an entire lot filled with food trucks: thai food, pizza, burgers, vegetarian food, fish, acai bowls, smoothies, cookies!! and more. This lot is only a 10 minute drive from my two listings: Kula Jewel and Kula Treat.
If youʻd like to see some menus, and/or get phone numbers of the trucks to get their hours, just ask me, and I can email that information to you. "Generally" the trucks are there from around 11am - 6pm most days - some close earlier on Sundays.
Personally, I think the Kula Bistro is one of the best restaurants on Maui, and itʻs only 10 minutes from my house. Great food, generous portions, awesome desserts. The main drawback - they donʻt take reservations, so itʻs best to get there early - like 5pm, or 5:30pm latest, to make sure you can get in without a wait. They are currently doing socially distanced dining both indoor and outdoor. They donʻt serve alcohol, but if you bring an UNopened bottle of beer or wine, they will cork and serve it to you for no extra charge - AND, thereʻs a market right across from the Bistro with an amazing beer and wine selection.

You can literally have breakfast on the spot, including Maui grown coffee and fresh juices, as well as get prepared food to go for ANY meal. Best fruits and veggies on the island, and fun pastries, also interest Maui made gifts. Massimo will make you a delicious crepe on the spot, Uma has vats of Indian food, Emma makes homemade coconut milk in many flavors, Shanon has dairy free desserts, and Kam and Henry will grill beautiful fresh caught local fish before your eyes, and set it on a bed of rice and cole slaw for $12. Top it off with some of Nancyʻs fresh baked cookies - YUM!!!
