Our favorite local pizza parlor. They offer seafood pizzas as well as other local toppings on a thin crust. We really like the Bon Temps Rolls appetizer as well as the spinach and artichoke dip.

This local meat market is about 10 minutes from the house. This is our favorite place to eat boudin and cracklin. You can also buy other local favorites to take home or even get a plate lunch or a fried pork chop sandwich.

An off-the-beaten-path fried chicken place on the northside of Lafayette. A testament to its quality is that it has stayed in business with locals even though there is a Popeye's a few blocks away.

A new music venue in Lafayette. The second location after the original opened in New Orleans. You can catch local acts most Thurs-Sun, but Sundays at 5pm are an especially good time to see Zydeco music.

This is a marsh island where the Tabasco hot sauce factory is located. It has beautiful gardens that you can walk for 3 miles on that features a bayou, historic live oaks, structures and even a buddha temple.
This is a great walk to take in the morning or evening combined with lunch or dinner in Lafayette.

This is a great walk to take in the morning or evening combined with lunch or dinner in Lafayette.
Just down the road in the neighboring town is a historic, Catholic, all girls school. It's a nice morning or evening drive with some beautiful oaks where many people take their engagement photos.

State park about 30-40 minutes north of the house with nature trails a swampland all around. Take the slow, scenic route there are back that takes you through the town of Plaisance for an old South feel.

This would be a good slow drive from Sunset to Arnaudville and then on to Breaux Bridge.
