Sightseeing
Oakland offers so many things to see and do. Here are some of my favorites.
Walk to the lookout point to see great views of the city. Check out a Pyramid to Moses along the way. Take the trail down from the lookout point to see some redwoods. Dogs welcome on leash. There is also a dog park inside the park.

An amazing trail system in the Oakland Hills. The park contains the largest remaining natural stand of coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) found in the East Bay. The park is part of a historical belt of coast redwood extending south to Leona Canyon Regional Open Space Preserve and east to Moraga.

Lake Merritt is one of the most unique urban spaces in the United States. Its three mile heart-shaped shoreline in the center of an exceptionally diverse city is the place for man and nature to migrate and mingle daily. This tidal lagoon is also home to the oldest designated wildlife refuge (1870) in the United States. You can rent pedal boats, kayaks, canoes, sunfish, and catamarans. Very popular spot for enjoying a sunny day.
