If you like BBQ, this is the place to go. Everything is good. I'm partial to their burgers and pork ribs. The wait staff is attentive, but not intrusive. Helpings are generous as well.

I eat here sometimes a couple of times a week, but I only order their chicken. Personally, I think it's tastier than El Pollo Loco and less expensive as well. Very authentic.

Rutabegorz is a fun, funky place with a real L.A. vibe. The emphasis is on salads and they are huge! There are many to choose from. They have other tasty, healthy, food as well.

There are three Gypsy Den's but this is my favorite. They don't have a huge menu, but what they do have is great. Try the baked mac and cheese. Chic and arty decor. Monday's open mic night.

The Cellar is one of the classiest places in O.C. It's in a downstairs basement, richly decorated. They serve exquisitely prepared French food. Expensive, but a must do. Dress to impress.

Angelo's and Vinci's is an Orange County institution. The restaurant is a former live theater and there are two levels. The ambiance is amazing and the food is exceptional as well.

This restaurant is close; in quiet downtown Placentia. The food is authentic Mexican. El Cantarito was voted one of the top 75 restaurants in Orange County. Chicken fajitas are to die for!

Kimmie's is a great place for breakfast. The food gets to you fresh and hot. All the wait staff is female and they are all very friendly. Great coffee!

I like this theater because they frequently show movies that are no longer out, classics from the 60's, 70's, indie films, foreign films; a hodge-podge of different genres. A great place for flicks.

Birch Street Promenade is a street in Brea featuring two theaters, and numerous restaurants. In September they have their annual outdoor jazz festival. Check them out online. Nice walk too!

The Placentia Library is in walking distance of the house, 12 minutes. Or bike, 5 minutes. Library has Wi-Fi, computers and of course plenty of books and magazines.

Crystal Cove is located in Laguna Beach. It's fairly secluded and a great place for a picnic. There is a nice, a bit pricey, restaurant on the beach. I've had drinks, but have never eaten there.

My favorite beach in California. There are more art galleries that can be counted. A lot of great restaurants. Las Brisas has great food IMHO. From there you can take a nice walk along the coast.

You can walk both sides of Main Street to check out the surf shops, bars and places to eat. Cross the street at PCH and walk the HB Pier. At the end have an ice cream at Ruby's. A fun day.

The Ferry has been around since I was a little kid. It's almost a rite of passage for people who live in O.C. Walk around Balboa. Quiet, mellow beach community. A relaxing 1/2 day.

This is where my guests always go to rent their vehicles. It's down the street. The staff will pick you up if you can't get a ride there. Service is quick and efficient. I've used them several times.

Costco has it all. It's huge and the place to go to buy in bulk. However, must have a membership card. Outside they have an eatery. $1.50 hotdog and drink. Don't need to show membership to eat.

This market is in the Latin part of Placentia. It is where I buy all my meats. They have chicken, pork, and beef already marinated. All you have to do is buy & grill. They have a great Latin deli too!
