South Point is the southernmost point in the United States! as you drive down South Point Road, stay right as you approach the ocean. you will be on a high cliff overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Local people often fish off these cliffs. Some tourists even jump off the cliffs and climb back up a very old ladder up the side of the cliff!

We love Punalu'u! Depending on surf, snorkeling is wonderful as you may be swimming with sea turtles! Lifeguards are on duty. This beach is just so beautiful we love going down and just hanging out in the tidepool and watching the waves come in! Coconut trees abound bordering the black Sand beach with the beautiful blue ocean beyond! it takes about 10 minutes to drive there from our house. Good fishing I hear too!

Punalu‘u Beach
We love Punalu'u! Depending on surf, snorkeling is wonderful as you may be swimming with sea turtles! Lifeguards are on duty. You must have lunch here! We think the best sandwich is the seafood salad made daily and waiting for you in the display case. Sit outside under the pavillion and enjoy local entertainment. top it off with your favorite malasada...mine is lilikoi!

While here, take the time to walk, bike or drive around our little town. Many of these houses were moved down to Pahala from Wood Valley and others were moved from camps around current Pahala to suit the sugar cane companies. Often these houses are generational, passing down to the next generation. Life is good here on the slopes of Mauna Loa!
