Downtown Maysville is beautiful, historic complete with cobblestone streets!! There is a flood wall which keeps the Ohio River at bay. Beautiful art work on the wall. There is a museum, and a waterfall in the center of town. The Mary Jane Clooney Theatre is there. Small shops and a coffee shop. Definitely a MUST VISIT during your stay!!

Downtown Maysville is beautiful, historic complete with cobblestone streets!! There is a flood wall which keeps the Ohio River at bay. Beautiful art work on the wall. There is a museum, and a waterfall in the center of town. The Mary Jane Clooney Theatre is there. Small shops and a coffee shop. Definitely a MUST VISIT during your stay!!
HOME OF GEORGE CLOONEY! The town is small, quaint, and sits on the banks of the Ohio River. Very old and historic. There are places to eat (no McDonald's or anything mind you) There is an old caboose in downtown (it MAY be a restaurant, but I'm not sure exactly what it is). The homes that face the river are very old and remind you of the houses on the Bay in Charleston, SC

Amish Store. Fresh made food, deserts, sandwiches. Spices, pasta, rice, vegetables, fruits. All grown and made locally.

Don't expect an 'elegant winery' instead it is sort of has a 'barn' feeling. They do make their own wine, from grapes grown right there on the property. The food is GREAT! There are big screen TV's for game night. It is definitely a favorite of the locals. FLEMING COUNTY IS A DRY COUNTY, yup, you read that correctly....NO BEER!! But The Winery DOES have beer and wine. They may have mixed drinks as well, I'm not a big drinker, so I'm not really sure about the mixed drinks.

Best store to shop at is DOLLAR GENERAL STORE on Clark St.
Store actually has fresh fruits/vegetables/all foods, dairy, etc. They have a Hardware Dept., a Home Dept., baby stuff, cleaning stuff, water, soda, dishes, papertowels and toilet paper. Service is good and clerks are nice....and I work there part-time, so drop by and say hello!

Bring bottled water and bug spray!!
Water at the cabin comes thru a hose, and it tastes like a water hose, so you will want to bring bottled water, to drink and to cook with. The cabin is in the woods, EXPECT BUGS! I do everything I can (spray regularly) to keep them from getting INSIDE the cabin, but while sitting outside or hiking, they will bite you!!

Fleming is now a “wet” county
After literally hundreds of years as a “dry county” Flemingsburg now offers legal alcohol sales. Your favorite beer, wine and spirits are available at the local grocery stores, gas stations, convenience stores and The Dollar General Store. There is also an American Legion and a VFW Hall. Please drink responsibly.
