TIP - order paella when you first arrive, takes 45 minutes to cook, but well worth it! We like to request the seafood paella with chorizo added (not as on menu). Live music is on Thursdays. Wonderful plantation house about 30 minutes away. It has many of the trees and flowers indigenous to the Lowcountry. The Black swamp and Rice paddy tours are informative.

The museum is small but will give you a good overview of Charleston's history. The Museum also has a few historic houses that are open for tours. It is located right across from the visitor's center where you can catch the free DASH shuttle to go and see these houses.
