Mora ice cream is a MUST! Sample the range of homemade delights while walking around the town. Too many favorite flavors to list but their signature is Blackberry, so that's a good place to start.

An award winning and Brit run fish and chip shop offering traditional fare. All good - even the mushy peas! You definitely need to sample the locally produced British inspired beers and ales, all served in "proper" 20 oz pint measures. Tasty!

Neighborhoods
Here's a few of the local neighborhoods around our place that you can explore while you stay.
An easy 15 - 20 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) from our place, Winslow is the main hub on Bainbridge Island and a perfect small town with independent shops, galleries, bars, cafes and restaurants - it even has a movie theatre! Winslow offers everything you need for your stay as well as plenty of opportunities to splurge! Its an excellent place to start to explore the island. You can spend a relaxed few hours here, walking around the town and using the many accessible hiking trails down to the waterfront and nature reserves that are close by. We love the friendly and relaxed feel of our local town.
Winslow is also the location of the Ferry Terminal that takes you into downtown Seattle in 35 minutes. Ferries run once an hour with the last Bainbridge bound ferry at about 2am so it's easy to fully enjoy all that the big city has to offer while you are based on Bainbridge. Winslow Ferry Terminal is also the main Bus Transit Hub so you can travel throughout the island and across to the Poulsbo area on the mainland without a car.

Poulsbo is a small town with a distinctly Scandinavian feel. Its about a 25 minute drive north and just across the Agate Passage on the mainland. You should explore its waterfront main street with lots of great bars, shops and restaurants as well as its harbor area that retains some of its fishing industry heritage. An important monument , the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial is an outdoor exhibit commemorating the internment of Japanese Americans from Bainbridge Island in the state of Washington. Located at Pritchard Park, 4192 Eagle Harbor Drive a short drive from Winslow.
