Perlan was designed by architect Ingimundur Sveinsson and opened to the public on 21 June 1991. The building is composed of an immense glass dome that sits on six hot-water tanks, each carrying 4 million litres of geothermal hot water. All of this is supported by a colossal steel frame, which serves important functions in addition to holding everything together. The framework, hollow on the inside, is actually a gigantic radiator. In the winter when it is cold, hot water runs through the frame, while cold water is used in the summertime. Exhibition Wonders of Iceland Visitors can see, feel, and live Iceland’s natural wonders all in one place. Exhibition Áróra Áróra is the first ever 8K northern lights planetarium show. It is a journey through the unique landscape of Iceland and outer space, to observe northern lights as you’ve never seen them before.

Kópavogskirkja was built in the years 1958-1962 by drawings from the office of the masters of the state which Hörður Bjarnason reigned for that time. Ragnar Emilsson architect at the office worked closely with the masters on drawing the church. The artistic window of the artist Gerður Helgadóttir, which adorns the window of the church, has a great glimpse of her and give her a breakthrough of peace and artistic perfection. The altarpiece by artist Steinunn Þórarinsdóttir was established in 1990, and is based on the story in chapter 13 of John Gudspjall about how Christ swallowed his disciples. Kópavogskirkja is considered a successful house of God, as it draws attention to both Icelanders and foreigners. 10 min walk from house. https://www.kopavogskirkja.is

Hot tubs and natural hot springs have been a part of Iceland's culture since the settlement era. The love for swimming and bathing is engraved in our DNA. For centuries we have known the health benefits of bathing in the oh-so-wonderful warm mineral water and de-stressing and relaxing every muscle in your body after a hard day at work. Almost all Icelandic swimming pools are geothermally heated so they are warm and cosy all year round. Most of the facilities also sport a hot tub or two. Swimming pools are even considered one of the most important places to socialize, work out and unwind. All Icelanders learn to swim in elementary school and could be said that it is our nation sports Price in Kópavoggs pool: for 1 adult is 950, - it is also possible to buy a card with more trips and then it is cheaper. there is also the Reebok fitness gym. 3 mins walk from house https://www.kopavogur.is/is/ibuar/ithrottir-utivist/sundlaugar-i-kopavogi/sundlaug-kopavogs https://www.reebokfitness.is/ Other pools in Iceland https://sundlaugar.is/
