Eating Like a Local
This is a collection of a few eateries that have previously provided us locals with above average dining experiences. Visits and experiences may vary based on service and quality of food if for example, a restaurant changes their staffing or menu. We hope this does not happen, but if it does, please give us feedback on any negative experience so that we can re-evaluate our review.
Unique burgers that are wonderfully delicious. The Sweet Potato Tots are heavenly and we would highly recommend most of their burgers. The Cronie Burger (featuring two full cronuts for buns) is great if you’re seeking something overly indulgent and borderline insane or the Drunken Monk Burger which has Angry Orchard onion jam and a pretzel bun is a must.

In the mood for that Thai flavor? The food here is exceptional but the service can sometimes be slow. We highly recommend the curry options on their menu.

If you are looking for a more upscale sushi restaurant, look no further than Seito Sushi. A little on the pricey side for our area but this sleek restaurant offers decadent, Japanese inspired dishes. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice was heavenly!

Dinner also comes with an 'all you can eat' option but take note that as a restaurant rule, if one person at the table wants to order 'all you can eat', then everyone else must as well. However, it is very fairly priced and the food is outstanding! The house made pasta and pizza are so good. Highly recommend the fettuccine al funghi, the pane al formaggio, and the apple-ricotta donuts!

This place is a bit of a drive from us (about 30 minutes depending on traffic) but it is such a fun spot to visit. The brewery itself is housed in a large warehouse style building with several food and drink vendors that are all very tasty. The beers brewed in house are also quite good. A stroll down Plant Street to the downtown Winter Garden area is also highly recommended!

Disney Dining
Disney World seems to have a certain stigma when it comes to dining. Many visitors associate Disney food with ‘park food’ and think that this is all Disney has to offer but believe us, there is more to the kingdom of magic than just chicken fingers and popcorn. Please note that with the exception of Le Cellier, all of the below mentioned restaurants can be found outside of the parks and do not require park passes. Also be aware that many of these restaurants can book up quickly so be sure to make reservations in advance!
Described as African-inspired, this restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge seems to be an Indian-African fusion, in our opinion. Not overly expensive, we would highly recommend the famous Bread Service with all the palatable dipping sauces and the Butter Chicken. Of note, we have been underwhelmed by their dessert options so if you have room left, maybe better to find something sweet elsewhere.

One of our favorite restaurants in the parks and maybe even in Orlando. While on the costly side, the biggest drawback is that this restaurant is located in the Epcot Resort and requires park passes to dine. Heavily influenced by Canadian cuisine, this lesser known steakhouse is famous for their Canadian AAA imported beef Filet Mignon. We confess that we order this entree at nearly every visit and if you enjoy quality steak, prepared masterfully, as we do, you must give this one a try. The Poutine is also amazing.

This Southern flare restaurant serves comfort food at its finest and is consistently delicious even with several menu changes over the past few visits. The price is average but the food is exceptional. We highly recommend the Fried Chicken and Donuts. The dessert is decent but the Moonshine inspired beverages are without a doubt refreshing after a long day out in the sun.

Universal and Citywalk Dining
Universal Studios has also come a long way with the addition of the Wizarding World, a new water park, and many new plans in the works. One thing is for sure though, Universal seems to persistently lack a vast diversity of options when it comes to fine dining. Maybe there is an amazing place out there somewhere that we have yet to discover but it goes without saying that our list of restaurants at this resort is much less elaborate than Disney. Also, while many of the Wizarding World eateries are worth going to, simply for the ambiance and magic, the food leaves a lot to be desired. Except for the butter beer however, we highly recommend not skipping out on that.

The Restaurants of Celebration
Celebration is such a quaint experience that we decided to give it a category of its own. Truly any of the restaurants located on Main Street are okay to good food but everything here is about being in a picturesque town modeled after Walt Disney's ideals. Be sure to check out Celebration during Halloween for some awesome Trick or Treating or in December when they make it snow on Main Street.
The Spanish inspired Colombia Restaurant located just near Main Street is a family owned tradition and there is something about the food just makes it feel as though it were prepared with an extra bit of love. The price is moderate be well worth the taste.

We had low expectations when entering this place and came out very pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and there were many wine options to choose from. Eating on Market St. in Celebration is also a very nice experience during the holidays.

Orlando is spread out with limited public transportation
Although we try to keep our listings as close to the attractions as possible, the Orlando area in general is very sprawling. Disney World itself encompasses over 25,000 acres of land and can be difficult to navigate without a vehicle. Public transportation is not the best but ride sharing services are becoming more and more popular. We highly recommend renting or bringing a vehicle but if unable to do so, ride sharing is the next best option. Walking to attractions or even places such as a grocery store or pharmacy is not the best choice when staying here.
