Food Scene

Review from recent customers: We were on our way over and hungry ... expected some kind of a snack bar but it was way better !! Super delicious beef fried to perfection with salad and chips! A very pleasant surprise! The waiters speaks German English and Swedish. Really great! Echt top! Fantastic food, competent and friendly service. Fantastisk mat, kompetent och trevlig service.

Sightseeing

Reviews from visitors: *Great views at the southern most point in Sweden. Fun compass that tells you how far away major European cities are from Sweden from that point. Worth a visit when you are in Skåne. *The southernmost tip of Sweden is bound to deserve a visit. It can be a bit windy and desolate, but the cafeteria closest to the sea is well worth a visit. Follow the scenic route between Trelleborg and Ystad, which is much nicer than the motorway, to get there. *The most southern point of Sweden with a stunning view over the sea whether calm or stormy. Slightly bumpy walking with stroller or wheelchair but worth the effort. Walk around the corner to see some great artwork installations.

Starry Holm's castle was built in the early and mid-1500s for the Danish national butler Mogens Gyldenstjerne. It had a moat and drawbridge but was nevertheless no real defence system but rather a country house. Since 1613 it was part of Svaneholms Gods. In 1627 the place was demolished with remains of the main building and two wings left to see. Even outside the moat is a dike that separates the plant from the plains in the south, which is part of the drained Näsbyholm Sea.

Reviews from visitors: *Interesting place. Have many fun historical events. *Great and very interesting. Staff had excellent knowledge of the period and were very informative. Our children really enjoyed it also. *Green area where you can walk around in the built-up Viking castle. The museum is interesting if not very big. There is also a cafe so you can have a coffee. The favorite, however, is the small museum shop with a large and well thought-out range of all sorts of things with Viking extension in all price ranges. *Nice little museum but a bit pricey. The free site can be visited for free. The highlight of the quarter is the reconstructed Viking castle.

Reviews from visitors: *It's a beautiful place. The history is amazing, and the grounds of the citadel are just stunning. *Nice Baltic castle, with good panorama, in the centre of a beautiful park. *Very nice citadel with a lot of history. Take a guided tour and end it with a super good sandwich in the deli at the moat. *The park, the castle and surrounding area was wonderful! There is a cozy beach and a little cafe there too. The courtyard of the castle itself was a little boring. But it is still worth to go there and walk around and look. The castle was built in the 1500s and has been in both the Swedish and Danish ownership. *A very interesting place, but only to drop in.

Reviews from visitors: *Beautiful place to visit with friends or family. Try to come there in summer where you can experience 'real life ' Vikings. Very interesting and a lot to see and learn. *Worth to visit this viking museum. You can see the daily life of the early vikings presented by staff of the museum who wearing custom and acting as if they are living there. *Here the Vikings to life. An open-air museum with many huts and people here really live according to the life of the Vikings. As is forged, woven, carved and baked. As a visitor, you are right in the middle ... *Always nice to visit Foteviken, the only course that you can not control is the weather.

Reviews from visitors: *My favourite place to take visitors, especially in summer. Not a long walk to the monument and worth the walk. Usually quite windy (hence good for hang gliders that are there on weekends), but if not too windy, it is nice to picnic on the clifftop. There are also some good places to eat on the waterfront. *Nice on a sunny evening to visit or first thing in the morning. Worth the effort *Beautiful historic site. View and walk around the cliffs was amazing. *One of the most beautiful places I've been to in Sweden. Usually very windy! *Go in the summer and enjoy one of the greatest views and cultural taste Sweden has to offer.

Reviews from visitors: *Very old cathedral in fantastic shape. The crypt with the legendary "Finn" carved in stone is very cool. Clock is beautiful and just overall a wonderful example. My wife and I just spent the week in Rome. This is much different then that but still very cool. *Very good guided tour twice a day. The XII century crypt and the astronomical clock are must see. *It's a must watch place in Lund. One of the oldest. *This is one of the nicest and most beautiful churches in Sweden and also as it dates from the time of Danish union is one of the most historic! *5 out of 5 stars! My favourite building in Lund and definitely worth seeing! Don't forget to check out the basement.

Reviews from visitors: *A small place with the famous King's grave from the bronze age. You can easily see it all in 30 minutes. A place to learn about bronze age burial traditions. However, no artifacts left, only rocks. Don't miss the quaint little cafe by the dam and creek next to the burial mound. *One of best place in South Sweden! *Interestingly worth visiting one of Scania's oldest royal tombs. *A monumental place. King grave of the first order. *Exciting grave and nice café with cheerful and personal staff.

Reviews from visitors: *Lots to do here! Aquarium, natural history, castle rooms and other exhibits. Reasonable price for entry as well. Hands on activities for children are good and translations in many languages. You could easily spend several hours here. The ticket was also good for the science museum but our feet were too tired. *Perm & temp art installations, aquarium, in a small keep. Accessible, well kept, and good variety. Paid entrance also gains you access to Technical Museum down the road. *Excellent value entrance. Some fun exhibits plus a nice aquarium on the bottom floor which is great for kids. The food at the café is good and the outdoor seating in the summer is beautiful.

Well worth a visit. *Hovdala Slott is a gem among Swedish castles ... no baroque palace with great pomp, but modesty in appearance ... and that's what is the special. Very nice park also. Six-hour Castle restaurant and the castle shop are very, very nice. *Nice destination, nice excellent hiking trails in the area, such as Caspers Trail (4.2 km) and Dust Trail (2.9 km) Fine with coffee in the café after exercise. *Exciting place and good food. Arts & Culture

Review from visitors: *A free-entry modern art museum with different exhibits every 4-6 months. Sometimes bold, often surprising and always intriguing! There is a daily guided tour at 14h00 and also at 18h30 on Wednesdays, both in Swedish (English upon request - then call them 4-7 days in advance and they will arrange something). There is also a book shop with a wide selection of local and international books on architecture, poetry, politics, art and more. And the restaurant happens to be one of the best places for lunch in town! *A free-entry modern art museum with different exhibits every 4-6 months. Reviews from visitors: *A very interesting museum. I really like the idea of showing the process that goes into public art. Sometimes it wasn't clear to me what I was looking at or what the final product looked like. Children/teens being free also helps make it accessible to families. We spent about 90 minutes here. *A striking museum after the recent renovations and new annex, the permanent collection is very interesting with both Swedish and foreign works. The focus on the artistic process was surprisingly interesting, even the 17-year old in our group was very fascinated by the exhibits! A well-spent hour in Lund, students and those below 25 years of age are admitted for free!

My daughter has learned a lot, and advancing continuously. *Is older beginners but has followed with my children for many years at various riding schools.
