A great wee trip for kids and train fans, Harry Potter style, to get the train from Broomhill, Nethy Bridge and Boat of Garten into Aviemore. A sceanic trip, with mince pies and mulled wine during the winter, or tea and scones other times of the year.
We have biked to Aviemore with the kids along the Speyside way, then caught this train back to Nethy for a day of adventure.

Near Kingnussie, this is a good short stop off. It was built by King George II after the second Jacobite rising in 1715 to help keep the rebelling Highlanders in check.

We like this wildlife park because the animals seem to have more space and because the kids love it. Endlessly facinating watching the polar bears, tigers, scottish wild cats, red pandas, monkeys, etc.
