Food Scene
This is a fantastic family-owned, old-school Italian Eatery, and the ONLY place in Julian where you can pony up to a bar top to get a glass of wine and an appetizer. They meals are huge and the price point is affordable. Whether you are local or just visiting you feel as though you are part of the family. Great service, great food. They also do take away pizza!

Don't let the name fool you, this place has an AMAZING menu. Yes they specialize in Soups, Sandwiches, and Breakfast (before 10 or 11 am), but all of their food is made from scratch and made to order. Plan on long waits on weekends and holidays, and plan on dining in for at least 45 minutes to an hour as their food takes some time (since it's all fresh and home made). Lonnie the owner is super friendly and hands-on, and they service and staff are always prompt and friendly.

Yes they specialize in Soups, Sandwiches, and Breakfast (before 10 or 11 am), but all of their food is made from scratch and made to order. Plan on long waits on weekends and holidays, and plan on dining in for at least 45 minutes to an hour as their food takes some time (since it's all fresh and home made). Lonnie the owner is super friendly and hands-on, and they service and staff are always prompt and friendly.
This place is located in Wynola, about a 5 minute drive from downtown Julian. It is the fanciest place the area has to offer, and definitely worth the short trek outside town. Farm to table food, cozy atmosphere, great service, and on the casual side of fine dining. Though this place has a great assortment of local beef and other carnivorous dishes, vegetarians have a special place in Chef Jeremy's heart and on his menu as his mom and sister are plant-based eaters AND work at the restaurant!

This place is new in town and is quickly gaining a loyal following. Good beer, pizza by the slice or take out a pie, ribs, wings... all done VERY well. Giant Jenga outside, a fun soda fountain, and a good atmosphere for hanging out inside. Oh, and it's the ONLY place in Julian open late!

This place is fabulously dark and local.Master brewer Tom Nickel is not only famous in Julian, but is an award-winning brewer, and owner of O'Brien's in San Diego. His beers are amazing and imaginative, and this is the place to be to mingle with the locals. A great sitting area outside where you can play Washers (similar to Cornhole) and make new friends. Don't come hungry though, unless you bring your own food (totally allowed), plan on having beer for dinner.
