Food Scene

The food here is excellent and just as important the staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome. They usually have 'fish' specials but as with any good gastropub restaurant have an extensive menu to choose from. Lunch is especially good value at £16.99 for two courses

This place should appear on "George Clarkes Amazing Small Spaces!" A tiny, probably irrelevant old building has been transformed into a fantastic tea room. The best coffee around, lovely staff and a huge selection of incredible cakes! Unsurprisingly they're very busy at weekends but everything runs like clockwork.

St Ives is spoiled for choice with excellent restaurants and cafe's but The Local Cafe is right up there with the best of them. We've been coming here (and using the take away next door) for the last 8 years and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal or experience. If you're looking for a fantastic fry up, and a good cup of tea, then this is the place to go. Anyone who has grown up in Britain will instantly recognise the 70's style seating and decoration. It's absolutely wonderful! The service is fantastic, the prices were fantastic and the food was even better.

Cosy, clean and fresh, food is always very tasty, reasonably priced and well presented. The staff are friendly and the coffee is very good. We have visited little acre kitchen a number of times since it opened. The menu is varied and there has always been something different on the menu.

Eric’s Fish & Chips harks back to the traditional British fish and chip restaurants of the past, blending that nostalgia with a modern European menu influence. The aim, then and now, was to make our favourite fish & chips the way they should be – simple, fresh and tasty using the best local ingredients. The freshest fish (from sustainable sources), traditionally fried chips, battered seafood, mushy peas and classic homemade sauces with a twist, all washed down with great beers, wine and refreshment in a relaxed and family-friendly place to sit down. Eric’s idea for putting a spin on traditional fish and chips has been extremely popular with tourists and locals alike.

Drinks & Nightlife

Quaint country pub in pretty Cambridgeshire village. Not too fussy, not too basic , just right. Not too trendy, not too shabby, just right. Not too expensive, not too 'two-for', just right. It's always on our list of choices when we fancy a drink and a meal- especially at weekends and at lunchtimes.

Beautiful old local Church. The first building on the site was erected c.1160 and added to over the next 400 years. An extensive restoration was carried out in 1859. The church has an unusual feature brought about during a hurricane in 1741 when the spire was blown into the river.
