Nielsen's is a must-do in Bountiful. They make their frozen custard in-house and is well known locally. Our favorites are their pumpkin flavored custard in the fall and anything chocolate. You can buy cartons to take home or stay inside. Their fries and burgers are also very good.

Trolley square is a destination in itself. The ambience is excellent the mall is fun to explore after eating. The Spaghetti Factory actually has an old trolley you can eat in if you get lucky with your timing. Great prices.

The Pie - Underground is a favorite place for students who attend the U, and anyone else who is fortunate enough to know about it. The restaurant is (no surprise) underground and has a subway vibe. The pizza is fabulous. Our favorite pizza in the valley.

Parks & Nature
Elephant rock trail is a beautiful, scenic hike that winds up through the canyon and takes you to Elephant Rock. It takes you through dense forested area and switchbacks for the first mile, but it levels out and makes for a beautiful hike. The views are unmatched. Bikers, joggers, and hikers are common in this area. Park in front of the gate to the park entrance. The trailhead is on the right after you cross a footbridge.

This park has tennis, a playground, a huge field, and some short trails that wind through the oak trees. It also has an amphitheater you can reserve if you have a large group. It is about 7 minutes from the house.

Located one mile away. They have a snack bar in the summers with good food. The golf course itself is fantastic with reasonable fees. The carts are fast and respond well to enthusiastic non-golfers who are just coming along for the ride. Watch out for deer and turkeys! A birdie takes on an entirely new meaning at this course.

Our favorite day to go with the kids is on Wednesday when they inflate a huge obstacle course that stretches across the pool.
