Agonda beach is a large beach located in Canacona at a distance of 35 kms. from Margao. The beach has palm trees and Casuarina pines along its shores. The southern end of the beach is dominated by a hillock that offers a breathtaking view. The Agonda beach road is lined up with restaurants and shops selling souvenirs, clothes, beach wear and refreshments. The road runs parallel to the beach for a kilometer or so.
The beach has plenty of shacks serving mouthwatering dishes. During the month of September the beach serves as a nesting ground for olive Ridley turtles.

Palolem is a large famous beach located in south Goa close to the town of Canacona. Palolem was once a deserted beach where one could enjoy serene beauty. The beach had a few huts and shacks and a couple of resorts nearby. Palolem beach is located at a distance of 40 kms. from Margao. Over time the beach became a tourist attraction as word spread. Close to Palolem is Butterfly beach. Tourists at Palolem usually hire a boat to take them to butterfly beach.
