The trails at Giant City are fairly easy, well-maintained, and the rocks are beautiful. Giant City Lodge is historic, rustic and amazing! There are also open play areas and an interpretive center.

I really like their food for a nice night out - dinners around $20-$30. Downstairs is the Grotto - sometimes with a nice jazz combo or other music.

Jennifer is an amazing chef! She grows her own herbs and uses local foods. She combines flavors in creative ways. Sometimes there is music, but it is always an enjoyable home-like atmosphere.

An Illinois icon - Garden of the Gods is the most visited rec area on the Shawnee National Forest for the scenery overlooking rock outcrops, including "Camel Rock". Beautiful!
