Poor House Pies is a great tiny business run out of the home of the pie makers. They display and sell their pies in a little shed by the road and payment is by the honor system. You can't order ahead, but if you get down there before the end of the day, you're sure to find a nice selection. (802) 999-4302 (bakeshop phone) poorhousepies @gmail.com

The park is woodsy with lean-to and tent sites and picnic tables available for day use. There is a small fee. check the web site for current info. https://www.vtstateparks.com/underhill.html From the park, you can hike to the top of Mt. Mansfield on a few different trails. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/vermont/the-chin-via-sunset-ridge-trailhttps:/ (The Sunset Ridge Trail will bring you to the chin, which is the highest place in Vermont!) You can also access the Cantilever Rock trail which brings you to - you guessed it! Cantilever Rock. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/vermont/canteliver-rock If you're an in shape hiker, it's so worth going to the top of the mountain. The views are spectacular and the rocky expanses are great for picnicking or napping. Just be aware of the rules. There are fragile alpine tundra plants up there and you will see roped off areas where you should not walk.

They offer pick your own organic strawberries and raspberries and have a greenhouse full of flower and vegetable starts. It's a beautiful drive to get there. About a 25 minute drive. http://www.riverberryfarm.com/ Covered Bridge Blueberry Farm https://coveredbridgeblueberryfarm.com/ This is another favorite place, right here in Underhill. For some reason we weren't able to add them as a separate listing in this guide book, but if you're here in July August or September, go and pick yourself some blueberries! The tallest mountain in Vermont. There are lots and lots of hiking trails on the mountain, with different degrees of difficulty. If you get yourself to the Underhill State Park, you will find several trails that lead to what we call the "Chin" the highest point on the mountain. If you head to the end of Stevensville Rd, you'll find other trails, some of which bring you to the "Forehead." If you're really ambitious, you can hike across the flat (-ish) top of the mountain from one to the other. If you really aren't ambitious or just not the hiking type, you can drive up the Toll Road from Stowe for a (steep) fee. It's worth it for the view. The top of the mountain has large rocky expanses and rare alpine tundra plants. (We consider it "Our" mountain, having grown up under it.)
