HIKING ON THE PENINSULA - AllTrails app - is a really good free hiking app you can download and search for a great selection of local hiking trails. The app will give you all the details such as length of hike, rating for level of difficulty etc.

Flowerpot Island is an island in Georgian Bay and is a part of Fathom Five National Marine Park. The island spans 2.1 kilometres from east to west, and 1.5 kilometres from north to south, and has a total area of 2 square kilometres. Singing Sands beach and trails is on the Lake Huron side of the Peninsula, located about 10 km. south of Tobermory, about a 20 min. drive from Jake's cottages. This offers a small, ungroomed beach and picnic area. There is also a short boardwalk and trail that passes through rare fen and dune ecosystems, which are home to four species of carnivorous plants, orchids and rare plants found only in the Great Lakes region. There is a paid parking lot at Singing Sands.

The road to Cabot Head is closed to vehicles due to road damage, however, it is still a great place to bike, hike or ATV as the road follows the shoreline of Dyers Bay. It is about 8 km. from the road is closed to the lighthouse. There is a community parking lot in Dyers Bay.
