Laurel Falls is a great hike! There are two ways in. One from Hwy 321, and one from Dennis Cove Road, Hampton Tennessee.

This is in Dungannon, Va...just about a 30 minute gorgeous, scenic drive through Shady Valley. You will actually cross part of the famous Appachian Trail on your way. You can rent bicycles or take your own. They will transport you to the top of the mountain trail and you get to ride back to town, exploring many different areas as you go. The trail is 12-17 miles long. A great all day outing! Pack a picnic or backpack with snacks and water.

This is a great walking or biking trail that goes from Elizabethton all the way to Johnson City. There are many gorgeous scenic spots along the way. Bike rentals are at the Johnson City trailhead, along with food. The trailhead in Elizabethton is only 2 miles from us!

This is one of our favorite local places! Throughout the summer months, they have family weekend visit days. There’s so much to do here! Our kids have attended their summer camp since they were small. They have some pretty intense activities, or you can lay on the beach around the lake. You can even take a train ride on the historic Tweetsie Railroad. Horseback Riding
Call David Mull (828-260-0947) at Roan Mountain Riding Company to make reservations for horseback riding in our gorgeous neighboring mountains at Roan Mountain! It’s only 25 minutes up the road from us! You will need to make reservations at least two days in advance. It’s $50 per person. There’s a 250 pound limit and a card is required up front. The ride is an hour and twenty minutes long. The age limit is 6 years old. No experience required. The address of the store is 8713 Hwy 19E and the address to the barn is 8806 Hwy 19E, Roan Mountain Tn 37687.
