Established in 1996, the restaurant is the brainchild of Italian expat Claudio Ceriani, a gregarious entrepreneur who since arriving in Thailand 28 years ago has also operated restaurants in Pattaya and Cha-Am, and who, throughout all his culinary adventures, has always adhered to two guiding philosophies – to offer the best representation of northern Italian cuisine that he can, and to treat his guests as though they are visiting his home. “At Mamma Mia we offer traditional mamma-style cooking,” 8/4 Naresdamri Rd. Hua Hin. Open daily 11.30am-2pm; and 5.30pm-10pm. Parking available. Tel: 1032 512 250

Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin first opened its doors to welcome guests in the early 1920s, at a time when the new railway line to Malaysia was transforming the sleepy fishing village of Hua Hin into Thailand’s first beach resort. Our hotel, originally named the Railway Hotel, was built along the classic lines of that era, and today is regarded as one of the grand hotels of the East. https://www.centarahotelsresorts.com/centaragrand/chbr/restaurant/

Drinks & Nightlife
The soi where are concentrated most of the bars is on Cha-Am south, just before soi 1. It’s a large soi with guesthouses, bars and a few shops on either side, and another row of bars in the middle. It is also known as “Soi Bus Station”, because there are buses departing to Bangkok. Except during the high season, most of the bars are quiet. But there are pool tables (you can play for free), TV screens, cold beer and friendly ladies (most of them from Issan, with very little English abilities), so you can still have a nice time. Closing time is 2:00 am, or earlier if there are no patrons or if the police decide so.

Bintabaht is the heart of sin for Hua Hin. It's pretty tame compared with the outrageous excess and lust of Pattaya, but this gives it a more appealing, low-key, undercurrent for visitors. The bars are fairly loud, but not excessive, the girls play it fairly cool and don't pull you in like an ATM card. It's still a pretty fruity place for the whole BG scene but closing times are, alas, another fly in the ointment. You'll be sat there having a blast at some bar when it suddenly the police will roll along and get the bar closed because it's nearly midnight. Since Thaksin has been booted out though lock-ins are becoming quite 'acceoted' by the PTB. To list all bars would be repetitive so here'

Hin Nam Sai Suay pub has become the trendiest place to go. This can seem a bit strange since the nightclub is located six kilometres from the city centre, at Soi 5 near the airport. Apart from a nightclub, the complex accommodates a number of smaller condo units. During the weekends, the area around Hin Nam Sai Suay tends to be crowded by cars and motorcycles. On nights when famous live bands visit the club, the not too spacious premises get extremely packed.

Parks & Nature
The Forest Park is a quiet and relaxing place. You can go there for a picnic, to play football with the kids, ride your bicycle, exercise, jog… The great thing about this park is that there are no soi dogs, unlike anywhere else in Cha-am. Instead you can just look up and see wild gibbons, especially in the morning. They are used to humans and they sometimes come very close! There is also a Thai restaurant in the park, near the entrance. The park itself is opened from 6:00 to 19:00.

In the middle of the cave is a Thai-style pavilion built for a visit by King Rama V in 1896. Phraya Nakhon Cave can be reached from Laem Sala Beach, by a steep rocky trail, 430 m. long and rising to a height of 130m., taking about 30 minute to climb provides spectacular sea views. Maruekhathaiyawan Palace between Cha-Am and Hua Hin was build by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) as a seaside summer retreat in 1923. Originally, the King had a Palace built on Hat Chao Samran beach, a little more North, but he was unhappy with it and decided to demolish the building and use the teak wood to construct a new Palace facing the sea in Cha-Am district. The location was found convenient because Cha-Am was by then connected to Bangkok by rail and the area was beneficial to health with its forest and fresh sea air.
