We recommend shopping for groceries and essentials at Mercadona in Paguera. It is very affordable and always has parking available. It is about a 12-minute drive from the house. Alternatively, there are supermarkets in Puerto Andratx.

If you want to have your laundry done for you, we recommend Lavanderia Jenny in Paguera. When coming from Camp de Mar it is on the right side, about 100 metres after the roundabout and just beside ferreteria Capri. The name may have changed with the owner in 2015, we're not sure anymore, but it's still there.

Although there are numerous clubs in Paguera, those mainly cater to German teenagers. The only club in Puerto Andratx is the discoteca Barracuda. Although standard fare at first sight, its sometimes eclectic mix of guests makes it more interesting than meets the eye. It's virtually empty outside the summer months, however.

Food Scene
Take a trip along the west coast and drop off at this restaurant with sideways-falling tables on your way back. The food is good (though not spectacular), the service friendly and the atmosphere great, We recommend reserving in summer. Driving time back is about 40 minutes over a curvy road so drink very moderately and drive safely :)

This quaint restaurant/café in Puerto Andratx is a favourite for fresh juices and vegetarian tapas. They also sell natural cosmetics made from local herbs. A friendly mother-daughter combo will take care of your needs.

In our opinion the very best ice cream in Mallorca. We remember it from when it was a tiny little ice cream parlour! The size nowadays is a proof of quality and their selection is huuuuuge!

There is plenty of hiking to do in the area of Capdella, for instance coming from Andratx or going to Galilea. We recommend the restaurant Nou where food is cheap and plentiful. You can't miss it, it's on the main street and it's always full.

A beautiful hike through forests and along the wild west coast goes from San Telmo to Sa Trapa. The whole hike should take about 3.5 hours, so bring along some water. There are several ways to get to Sa Trapa, we recommend finding the foot trail that goes along the coast starting at the far end of San Telmo. Ask us for directions. Take a swimming suit for a dip in the sea at En Basset.

A smug little beach beneath pine trees at the extreme northwest of the island. The lighthouse at the end of the road is also worth visiting. Plan a whole day for this. We recommend a day trip driving the highway via Palma and Inca (a little over an hour) otherwise you will not have time for the beach!

A family-friendly beach in the little town of San Telmo, about 25 minutes drive from the house. You can rent a pedalo and ride to the little island of Pantaleu, the place from where the Christian 'reconquista' of Muslim Spain began in 1229.

Though rather far from Camp de Mar, we do want to mention one of the island's few remaining natural beaches, and one of its prettiest, with very shallow turquoise waters reaching far out and dunes at your back instead of hotels.

If you want something close by, take a 20-minute walk on a little trail (it's fairly steep at the end) that will lead you to an isolated pebble beach. Great for an early evening apero or just contemplating the sound of waves :) And if you're feeling lazy, there's even a road that leads there.

The fastest way to this spectacular canyon at the bottom of a long and winding road is via Palma but you will be rewarded by the drive along the west coast via Andratx and Banyalbufar where you can make stops at Valdemossa, Deia and/or Soller. Plan a whole day for such a trip.

Do not spare a visit to Palma. It is a beautiful city with lots to do and it's relatively close. In summer we recommend the free open air film showings in front of the cathedral (bring a blanket for sitting on and come early). For nightlife head to the Paseo Maritimo.
