Local Farms

Meat, maple products and eggs. I love this place. Walk into a historic barn, be greeted by the friendliest dog on the planet, visit the goats, and browse all the meat coolers (beef, pork, chicken) at your convenience. Self check out. It really is the ultimate retail experience.
Grant Family Farms, LLC

This is a gem of an orchard. It’s never crowded, and they are tucked away in a quaint corner of Henniker. If you want to go somewhere that’s not mobbed for your autumn apple picking experience, go here.

Entertainment & Activities

We love to come out when they are open on Saturdays and Sundays for some cider flights and maybe a pizza. If you couple a visit here with a morning hike on Kearsarge via the Lincoln trail, you’ve set yourself up for a perfect day.

Henniker Brewing is one of my favorite breweries--they have great beer and they're just next town over. I would definately recommend stopping by for a brewery tour if you're skiing at Pat's Peak or looking for a rainy day activity.

Food scene

Decent place to grab pub fare in a more quiet setting. The drive there is the best part. Take the backroads—Gove road to East Deering to 149 to Farrell Hill, pass the prettiest swimming and kayaking spot at the Deering Resevoir. Take the Pleasant pond route on the way home. If you ride gravel or mountain bikes,5)8/ makes a great circuit!
