Wildlife
All of our cottages are located in a private area of the Park overlooking Johnstone Strait and the Broughton Archipelago Marine Park. The area is renowned for some of the best whale watching and marine mammal viewing in the world. Tours depart Alder Bay daily for whale watching. You can also book sea kayaking excursions and other tours.
Alder Bay also has a good truck called Roxy’s. Chef Penne is from Thailand and after 4pm serves up some awesome Thai dishes. Roxy’s is fully licensed so enjoy a cold beer, glass of BC wine on the deck in the sun!

Sointula is pretty little village on Malcolm Island which is easily accessible by a short ferry ride from Port McNeill just 15 minutes from Alder Bay. Sointula means ‘place of harmony’ in Finnish and has a fascinating connection to Finland.
