Evergreen Mountain Sports for gear rentals: If you're looking to rent a bike, paddleboard or skis for your adventure, this would be a great place to stop on the way up. If you're planning to fish visit Platte River Outfitters in Bailey.

A few fun stops on your way to the cabin.
If you're looking to kill some time before you drive to Bailey, this is a cute stop! Stroll around the lake, shop, or grab coffee at the Muddy Buck and/or a meal at Murphy's Mountain Grill. If you're lucky you might even run into the local elk.

Uber/Lyft is super unreliable in the mountains.

A few packing recommendations
Any time of year:
-A water bottle is nice for hikes and to stay hydrated, which helps a lot with the elevation.
-Lotion (it's dry here!) + sunscreen
-Swimsuit
Winter: Slippers for walking around the house (keep your feet warm!), wool socks, gloves for cold mornings/brushing snow off the car, etc. Shoes with traction for walking around on snowy days.
Summer: Colorado can get really hot during the day and cool off significantly in the evenings. A light jacket/long-sleeve top is nice to have in the mountains.
