The sunrise/sunset there is described as heavenly. Reservations are required to get into the park https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/facility/253731 to see the sunrise. It gets VERY COLD there by the way!
So bring warm clothes and blankets if you are going to watch the sunrise. Temperatures average between a low of 41-47 degrees. Although it warms up during the day, it rarely gets above the mid-sixties. Sunsets are also amazing and if you stay past dark, you can see more stars than you have ever imagined. Give yourself about an hour and a half to get there.

Everyone knows about road to Hana, but very less people know about the tropical hikes at Mount Puu Kukui. Just search on Google map and you can drive up to the valley hidden in the middle of tropical forrest. You can enjoy the view or take a hike, recommend to do that in the morning.

Just right across our street is a beautiful white-sand beach. Unlike beaches in North Maui/ Lahaina, waves here are very calm, more friendly for the kids and families. I don't need to mention but you can guess it's also perfect for suntanning :)

Great little convenience store that has a small selection of groceries, great fresh produce, a deli, souvenirs, t-shirts, beach gear, sunblock, and anything else you might need. The one nearby our place (4-min walking, 2349 S Kihei Rd) has a great selection of food (cooked and prepared as you order, not prepacked!) They even have a decent poke bowl and french dip at bargain prices!

Simple, affordable but great brunch/lunch. The line could be long so I would recommend you to go slightly early in the morning or before lunch time.

If you're fancy for a nice fine-dining dinner, check out Cuatro - this is our favorite in Kihei. I would recommend to book a table at least a week in advance!

If you're looking for the best sushi in town, I would recommend Miso Phat - the fish is so fresh that it will melt in the first bite. It's a great treat for your trip - please book early, especially for weekends. I sometimes couldn't get table for next weekend!
