The site of the first Gold Rush in the East! Lots of fun things to do, including wineries, restaurants, shops and The Holly Theater. The Holly is a wonderful, historic performance venue with plays and concerts all year long! Dahlonega has a variety of festivals and events from "The Bear on the Square Festival" in the spring and "Gold Rush Days" in the fall. There are storytelling and music festivals as well. Dahlonega is also the home of North Georgia University and only a 30 minute drive.
