oA historic forest trail that runs roughly 440 miles from Nashville, TN to Natchez, MS oThe trail was created and used by Native Americans for centuries, and was later used by early European and American explorers, traders, and emigrants in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. oToday, the path is commemorated by the 444-mile Natchez Trace Parkway, which follows the approximate path of the Trace. Parts of the original trail are still accessible. oAll along the trail are historic sites, picnic spots, and overlooks. It also makes a nice drive. oOur favorite things along the Trace are the Cypress Swamp near milepost 122, and the Reservoir Overlook near milepost 105, which gives you a beautiful view of the Ross Barnett Reservoir. The Overlook is also a good place to park and walk/bike along the paved walking trail
