Palace
“"Schönbrunn Palace was the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers, located in Hietzing, Vienna. The 1,441-room Rococo palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural, and historic monuments in the country. Since the mid-1950s it has been a major tourist attraction." (Source: Wikipedia) Honestly even if you don't feel like visiting another museum, just going there and have walk around in the gardens on a sunny day is lovely way to spend your time. I highly recommend to go there with children, they get to dress up as knights and princesses while visiting the children museum. ”

“Naschmarkt is a lively place all week and in particular on Saturday. Saturday’s you will not only find the usual stands but also a local farmer market. I love to go there to buy fresh flowers or seasonal fruit and vegetables. But there is more to discover! If you love flea markets, this is the place to be every Saturday morning until early afternoon. And don’t miss the opportunity to sip your sundowner after your flea market experience in one of the very hip places like Neni, Orient & Occident... and more. Basically you can spend your entire Saturday there.”

Bus Station
“For peopel who love nature and walking tours. Here my best tips which for a great tour which I always do with my guests. Best view over vienna! Best local food in "Heurige" Tour 1: U4 till Heiligenstadt, 38a till Kahlenberg, take a coffe with the best view. Start walking downhill (you cant miss the trail or ask peopel). During the warm season you will finde many "Heurige" on your way where you can try the best asutrian vines and snacks. You will reach Kahlenbergdort after a 30 Min walk and you can continue walking to Nussdorf (10 Min) and have a great austrian Dish in Gasthaus "Renner" (watch closing days!). Renner is famous for all austrian dishes in a traditional atmosphere of inside or outside and a fair price and large portions (maybe share one :)). Tour 2 is a bit more walking: Start U4 Spittelau, change to tram D to Nussdorf. Start walking up hill "Philosophenweg" (you will see a map for the bigger tour at the station). you can decide to take a short cut on the hill and walk over Kahlenberg back downhill or to walk uphill till Kahlenberg and than the same way down as tour1. In Nussdorf is the Gasthaus "Renner" which I highly recommend. Also possible to do everything without walking and take the bus 38a up and downhill :) or only Strassenbahn D to Nussdorf to eat at Renner :)”

“Located at the very heart of Vienna, you won't be able to miss the Stephansdom (St. Stephens cathedral or "Steffl", as the locals call it). There are nice guided walking tours where you can see the catacombs underneath and take a lift up the rooftop - great!”

Opera House
“One of the world's largest and most splendid theaters, the Vienna State Opera House (Wiener Staatsoper) has hosted many of the world's most prominent composers, conductors, soloists, and dancers. Operatic and ballet performances are staged at least 300 times a year, fuelled by an obsession with music that goes as far back as 1625 when the first Viennese Court Opera was performed. The current massive Opera House was built in 1869 and is notable for its French Early Renaissance style, while interior highlights include a grand staircase leading to the first floor, the Schwind Foyer (named after its paintings of famous opera scenes), and the exquisite Tea Room with its valuable tapestries. Capable of accommodating an audience of 2,211 along with 110 musicians, the Opera House is also home to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. (English language guided tours are available.)”

“St. Stephen's Cathedral is the symbol of Vienna. Construction commenced in the 12th century. Today, it is one of the most important Gothic structures in Austria. St. Stephen's Cathedral is 107.2 meters long and 34.2 meters wide. It has four towers. The tallest of these is the south tower at 136.44 meters. The tower room, from which there is a gigantic view across Vienna, is reached via 343 steps. A total of 13 bells hang here. However, the best-known bell of St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Pummerin, is located in the 68.3 meter-tall north tower. It is the second-biggest free-swinging chimed church bell in Europe. On the roof of St. Stephen's Cathedral, colorful roof tiles were laid to create the Royal and Imperial double-headed eagle and the coat of arms of the city of Vienna. The interior of St. Stephen's Cathedral was changed again and again over the centuries, right through to the Baroque period. A visit to St. Stephen's Cathedral is a must for every visitor to Vienna. In addition to valuable altars and side chapels, the impressive cathedral treasure can also be seen, including relics decorated with gold and precious stones, monstrances, liturgical texts and books as well as vestments. Numerous important people were also given their final resting place in St. Stephen's Cathedral: Emperor Friedrich III. was buried in an impressive marble sarcophagus. The tomb’s cover slab alone weighs eight tonnes. Prince Eugene of Savoy has his final resting place in a private chapel. And famous names buried in the catacombs of St. Stephen's Cathedral include the Habsburg duke Rudolph IV. “the founder", who laid the foundation stone for the Gothic reconstruction of the cathedral in 1359. In addition, the graves of Vienna’s cardinals and archbishops can be found in the catacombs.”
