“Vehicular and passenger ferries link Sorrento across Port Philip to Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula, and on to the Great Ocean Road. Ferries are prolific, they run on the hour every hour during the day, and offer magnificent views of the multi-million dollar mansions atop the Portsea and Sorrento cliffs, and the picturesque Point Nepean and the Port Phillip Heads on the 45-minute journey to Queenscliff. The small inter-island ferry between Stony Point and Phillip Island that carries passengers only also stops at French island in the middle of Western Port. It is such a cool experience to take the ferry trip across, and then go out for brunch or lunch in some of the gorgeous spots in Queenscliff! French Island is also amazing to visit. ”
“If you're fancying a special treat with friends or a romantic date night, then this place is it. Exquisite food, perfect service from lovely locals, lively atmosphere on the weekends. Gorgeous intimate spot.”
“This gorgeous restaurant is located on the beach and has beautiful views that you can enjoy whilst eating their delicious food. It is Australian cuisine and you can go for a drink, light meal or their a la carte menu for lunch and dinner. Medium priced and I recommend booking. Open daily but closed Sunday nights except in January. Ph:03 5984 1500”
“This stunning cliff top walk has historic significance as it was the first time the Union Jack was used to claim possession of Australia. The breathtaking water views across Port Phillip Bay to the Bellarine Peninsula, Melbourne and Mount Dandenong are amazing. Also you will get an insight into how Melbourne's elite spend time at their summer mansions. You will adore this walk! It is a must to do! Start/Finish: Start either end. Point King Road or Lentall Avenue. Distance:- Approx. 1.5 km return Time to complete: 1 hour”
“Fantastic food and coffee with views across the Ocean Beach of Sorrento. They have a resident Echidna and you maybe lucky enough to spot him”
“With Moonraker you have an incredible 3-hour snorkel adventure with local Bottlenose Dolphins, you swim alongside cheeky Australian Fur Seals (which are like dogs!) and you get to explore underwater marine parks filled with colourful fish. Or if getting in the water up close and personal is not your thing, you can embark on a private luxury adventure aboard the Moonraker, where you can see the very best of Port Phillip Bay and wild dolphins swimming alongside, just meters away from the Australian Fur Seals. If you love dolphins, like I do, then I can’t recommend this adventure enough. ”
