Hotel Matador B&B is a restored historic hotel built in 1914 in the heart of Texas cattle country, the foothills of the Caprock. Serving a hearty West Texas breakfast each morning, our guests also enjoy lovely rooms with private baths; free Wi-Fi.
Karen was the perfect Texan hostess. We had a restful night's sleep, with a full (and I mean FULL) country style breakfast the following morning. A little gem of a place.
The hotel is beautiful and the hosts are fantastic!! They did everything they could to make me feel very welcome and at home. The room was large, with a very comfortable bed, and a great shower with very hot water and strong pressure! I choose this hotel due to it's close proximity to Caprock Canyons State Park. I was there for 3 days to hike and explore the park. The normal breakfast time is 8:30 but the hosts had breakfast ready an hour earlier so that I could get to the park faster! They even asked if I had any food allergies!! I don't have food allergies but it's wonderful that they don't overlook any detail. This was a fantastic stay and I will definitely return!!
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Matador. My stay was restful and relaxing after a long drive. The breakfast was a great send off.
Very nice B&B. Breakfasts were great and there is a nice outside area to sit and enjoy. There is a very comfortable lobby area with nice sofas and chairs.
Our stay at the Hotel Matador B&B was great fun. The room was very nice (it was a converted barbershop) and had a massive bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub and a massive walk in shower with 4 shower heads. The hotel had a lot of character, and the common areas were very pleasant to relax in and a great place to meet other guests. Linda was very easy to organise our stay with and was kind and helpful. The cooked breakfast the morning after was delicious - and incredibly filling. Would definitely recommend!
My Mum and I were traveling across Texas and loved our stay at Linda's. She made us so welcome and comfortable, it was like a spa visit for the soul! My Mum and I found our drive across Texas fascinating and the landscape beautiful, often because of its starkness. We were also struck by the derelict and abandoned houses and towns. Linda's hotel is a well loved and cherished respite.
We had an excellent stay and enjoyed the hospitality. We will definitely recommend to friends and also be back, ourselves !
Place is in the middle of nowhere, but clean and safe. Breakfast is SO huge and tasty. Linda did great! She even cut cherries for us. You might want to bring food with you if you there for Sunday. No places to eat on Sunday. Not even fast food. Hotel is pretty busy for that small town. I met great people.
