“Gastro pub. Lunch and dinner menus. About a 10 min walk. The Purty Kitchen in Monkstown is the third oldest pub in Dublin and the oldest pub in it’s own local area. It dates back to 1728. The Purty Loft has supper/concert events. It has hosted to a plethora of big Irish and International stars including The Dubliners, Aslan & Don Baker and in more recent times has been host to Republic of Loose, Luka Bloom and Declan O’Rourke. ”

“ This is the newest addition to the Dun Laoghaire pub scene. A great selection of craft beers. The pub is dedicated tot he enjoyment of beers, there is a TV but it is rarely on and the music is very much background. Poppy (our dog) is a regular as it is dog friendly!”

“This October marks the 100th anniversary of this unique work of art commemorating many local Irishmen who died in the Great War. It is in the Gaelic Revival Style and was influenced by the Book of Kells. Hand painted by Sr Concepta Lynch, a Dominican nun, it has been described as 'a three dimensional tour de force'. This was neglected for many years although my son was brought to see it as a boy, being educated by the Dominican Convent Primary school.”
