park
“Classic example of a Victorian park, designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, and which measures 34 hectares (85 acres). Its set on the banks of the River Kelvin, and is (in my opinion) the best park in Glasgow. Depending on time of day / year, you may find joggers, cyclists, students, dog walkers, skaters and barbecuers all using this wonderfully green space, and the Kelvin walkway cuts right through the park. It's just two minutes walk from the flat, past the bars and restaurants in Gibson street, the entrance is opposite Eusebi's deli.”

The park is rich in rural history formerly being part of the Old Pollok Estate and ancestral home to the Maxwell Family. The historical mansion house is open to visitors and features a tea room and restaurant for refreshments.
