“Stop #1: The Estes Park Visitors Center, open year-round at 500 Big Thompson Avenue, offers information about dining and activities plus local ambassadors and friendly staff happy to answer all your questions. During the summer you can catch free shuttles to get around town and RMNP. There is also a free parking ramp with some good viewing areas. We have never used it for a car ;) It is an easy <5 mile walk. Pick up the Estes Park News (a free weekly events and news paper that comes out each Friday), cruise the racks of info for anything that sounds interesting, relax in the comfy couches, read the bulletin board, etc. After that stop, we begin the transition into Estes Park living, soaking in the beauty of the mountains, village, rivers, wildlife, and lake.”

“The Knoll-Willows Open Space is a 20-acre natural park located to the north of (above and behind) the Estes Park town hall and library complex. The open space has no admission fee and is a nice place for a picnic. There are great views of Lake Estes and the entire town of Estes Park and its surrounding distant mountains. It is an easy walk from the parking lot to the ruins of a stone bungalow that burned in 1907. The north trailhead and parking area is just south of East Wonderview Avenue between the entrance to the Stanley Historic District and MacGregor Avenue. ”

“I love the unique gifts, almost all made by Colorado artists, at Earthwood Artisans and Earthwood Collections. When I travel abroad, I always buy gifts for my hosts from the great people at Earthwood.”
