History Museum
“ Eden’s history is steeped in the tradition of the sea and undoubtedly the most colourful era was that of the shore-based whaling which extended from 1828 to 1930. The Eden Killer Whale Museum, established in 1931, is one of the oldest museums in NSW, and records for posterity this incredible battle between intrepid men in rowboats, armed only with hand harpoons and the leviathans of the sea. The whalemen were, however, assisted by a pod of killer whales and the museum contains its unique story and the skeleton of the most famous of the killer whales “Old Tom”. “ The Bundian Way – Story Trail Walk is the first section of the 350 km Aboriginal pathway that extended from the sea at Twofold Bay to Mount Kosciuszko. The Story Trail section is a 2km path that goes between Cocora Beach (Ida Rodd Drive) and Quarantine Bay. Along the walk you will get spectacular coastal views of Twofold Bay and beyond and some iconic landform features. The path takes you around the headlands down to a beach and around another headland. There are some beautiful lookouts built along the path for you to take in the view across the bay. The Bundian Way is much more than a pathway. It is a shared history of the Aboriginal walking track from the tablelands to the”

“Lions Beach is nestled in between Pambula Beach and the Pambula River Mouth. Rocks border its northern and southern entrances, making for great climbing and photography, with Lion Rock the king of them all. You can walk north from Pambula Beach to Merimbula (6km) or walk a few hundred metres around the rocks to the Pambula River Mouth. This beach and its neighbours are enormously popular in summer, so be prepared to park the car on Coraki Drive and walk down through Lion Park. The park has a large shelter with benches, 4 free gas barbecues, 7 picnic tables, amenities, beachside shower and viewing platform – and it’s dog friendly. ”
