“Bike the Shining Sea Bike Path four miles to Woods Hole. Largely original fishing village with marine scientific institutions, such as: Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Marine Biological Laboratory, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric lab. Waterfront restaurants galore! Great seafood, excellent biking and walking neighborhood, free small authentic aquarium, and an exhibit center on School Street about the work of the institutions, good coffee at Coffee Obsession. Ferry to Martha's Vineyard at the least expensive fare from here versus other ports.”

“Nobska Light is set at the very southwestern tip of Cape Cod, separated from the shore by Nobska Road. The light station was established in 1828, with the original light mounted on top of the keeper's house. In 1876 the present tower was built, along with one portion of the keeper's house and the oil house. In 1937, a 125-foot steel radiobeacon tower was installed and the reed horn fog signal replaced with a diaphragm over the next decade. Eventually, the Friends of Nobska Light, will complete the restoration and will operate the lighthouse as a museum open to the public for free.”

Riblji restoran
“This is one of my favorite restaurants to enjoy on an early weekend morning. Fresh homemade muffins with a view over a marsh to Buzzards Bay. This is about a 30 minute drive max from the cottage and next to Horseneck Beach; my favorite beach if you walk way down to the quiet ends. This restaurant also serves amazing food for both lunch and dinner. My favorite though is sitting outside on hot summer days. ”

“From their website: World-class musicians, mind-blowing art, provocative walks, unforgettable walks. Highfield Hall & Gardens is not your typical historic estate. While there's plenty of history within these glorious old walls, Highfield is a vibrant cultural center surrounded by restored gardens, peaceful walking trails and conservation land. The story of this property is a dramatic one as it was, literally, saved from the wrecking ball in 1994 and lovingly restored, opening as a museum and historic site in late 2006. It is open to the public April 15 through October 31: Tuesday--Friday, 10 AM - 4 PM Saturday 10 AM - 2 PM Sunday 12 PM - 4 PM Closed on Monday except holidays. Members: Free Adults: $8 Seniors (65+): $5 Children under 12 and Active Military: Free North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) members: Free ”
