Great 10th floor apartment in the heart of Laureles Medellin. Laureles is the best place for a walk because of its trees and it is flat, beautiful and safe. We are walking distance from a number of great restaurants. A taxi to Poblado is only $4.
Nice modern apartment in a good building, within walking distance of enjoyable bars, restaurants, & shops. Ben's unit has "buena vistas", and is well stocked with everything working in studio apartment. It is in a nice area, and quick cab ride or easy walk to the more active Laureles Parks & nightlife. For a good description of this part of Medellin, see (URL HIDDEN) If you want to always be in the middle of the "action", then stay in the football stadium area. But if you enjoy walking, then Ben's place is a very good place to stay. I liked it as well, as the good places that I have rented in the past in Poblado.
Ben's apartment is an absolute gem and an excellent value. The biggest difference when staying at Ben's apartment vs many other professionally owned Medellin apartments on AirBnB is that he actually lives there so it's a lot easier to settle in and get into rhythm of cooking breakfast/dinner and feeling more "at home." Location: Laureles is a wonderful upper-middle class neighborhood. Ben's apartment is close to the famous calle 33 with many dining and bar options. In addition, Ben's apartment is a block away from an excellent gym, bodega/bar, and a barber shop. He's also walking distance from a grocery store and a mall (which features an exito). The Apartment: Absolutely excellent in all ways. The apartment is airy, clean, and comfortable. He has an excellent work station, a comfortable bed, an amazing bathroom with a roomy shower with great water pressure and hot water. Once complete side of the apartment is glass windows, and when opened, reveal one of the most amazing views you're going to find in the city without having to stay in the hills. Ben is a great guy and answered my many questions leading up to staying at his apartment (I was concerned about being able to get work done). He was very accommodating and and overall a great guy. I definitely recommend staying here.
Ben really made us feel welcome! He left us some great directions and tips and even a nice cold bottle of champagne. His place was clean and inviting, and has an around the clock doorman. The view is AWESOME, especially at night. It's in a neat location with lots of restaurants in a central area that offered some great (and healthy) alternatives to arepas and fried meat. The metro is either a really inexpensive cab ride away, or as we preferred, a really pleasant 1.5 mile walk. I would absolutely recommend this place if you are looking for a comfortable and easily accessible place to call home while exploring the city.
