The house is in an attractive residential street of early Victorian homes near the famous Oval cricket ground and the Thames. The street is a hidden gem, quiet and secluded but close to amenities on the riverside and inland.
The house retains original Victorian features and minimal, yet tasteful interiors. The large open plan living room has a seating area, fireplace and wide-screen TV at the front, and opens into a second reception area, leading to the back of the house. French doors open onto the back garden. There is a light, eat-in kitchen big enough for the whole family with a dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge freezer. The back door opens onto a south-facing garden, which is a sun trap in summer and wonderful for an evening al fresco drink or for children to play.
There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a king-size bed and one with a double and both with original Victorian fireplaces. The bathroom is large, very modern and well designed, with a luxurious walk-in shower and separate bathtub. The chimes of Big Ben, just across the river Thames, can be heard from the bedrooms.
