Honestly, without prejudice, i am very disappointed on it. If you have hygiene concern, i don't think this is a good place for stay.
Since the listing shown 1 bed room only, I have texted the host which I have 4 person to check in, and the host told me have one extra sofa bed so I book it. When I checked in, I am shocked by many things, the floor never clean properly, balcony still got the cigarettes remain there. The bedsheet not seem like wash before we check in, got smell. The extra pillow in the cabinet with super yellowish stain. So, i texted the host but his reply was rude, he said something like not happy can just move out, as the stay is cheap, around USD 20 per night, and he will refund me in full. I did feel insult and threaten, so I moved out at 1 am, Midnight.
I keep following up for the refund, the host ask me to wait until he comes back from overseas for refund, so I waited for 5 days. But then, when he is back in HK, he told me he don’t know how to refund, then ask me to liaise with Air BNB. Then why he asked me to wait for so many days? I could have liaised with Air BNB directly. When I complaint to Air Bnb, they claimed that confirmed with the host then straight refund me 50 %. Does Air Bnb care about my concern before the refund? The host keep mentioned the reason I moved out is the only one bed bed room issue, but my main concern wasn’t one bed room, the host never try to understand my concern then offer me full refund with the threatening msg. Secondly, Air BNB claimed that, after I moved out, the status remain in active status, so the host cant rent to other party, so they can only pay me 50 percent. Is it my fault? The host ask me to wait until he comes back from overseas to check the house then only can refund me, so how can I cancel it? I really feel like being fooled by the host and Air BNB doesn’t really stand in my shoe.
Anyway, I only can say, disappointed. The 50 percent of refund doesn’t make any different even if the host don’t refund me at all. I escalated this to Air BNB because I really feel threaten and insult by the host as a consumer but Air Bnb not seem really care about it and their stand always on the host side, truly disappointed.
