Welcome to Boulder! We're a Boulder city licensed short-term rental. When you book, you'll see airbnb adds the cost of Boulder's occupancy tax.
If you're looking for warm hospitality with room to spread out and not just a bed, come stay with us! (And if you're looking for a whole house, check out our other listing: Hansen Haus 2300 Square Feet plus Bikes.)
You're sure to enjoy yourself in our 2300 square foot home in South Boulder, which features a newly-remodeled, bright, airy guest suite in the lower level. The bedroom features a queen bed and your own closet. The rec area can double as another bedroom with a privacy screen and air mattress, or you may choose to use the area as we do, for practicing yoga, meditating or watching Netflix or cable television. Your favorite spot may be the soaking tub in your private bathroom. The suite also includes a laundry room.
We'll help you start out right with breakfast items you may prepare on your own, and you'll also have access to our full kitchen, dining room and backyard deck.
Getting around is easy, whether you choose to walk two blocks to catch a local bus, or hop on the vast network of trails using our road bikes, commuter bikes or pink and green watermelon cruiser (yes, we do love our bikes here!). We even have helmets, locks, bike pumps and water bottles for your use, so you don't need to pack those.
The University of Boulder is a 2-mile ride from here. Downtown is 10 minutes beyond that. Or, you may choose to head west to hike the trails, just up the street from our home.
Note: Since we work in our home full-time and make some arrangements for guests, we need at least a week's notice for your stay.
Full suite downstairs (bedroom, bathroom, laundry, rec area, extra queen air mattress, privacy screen); kitchen and dining room upstairs; patio and gardens outside; bikes with all the fixin's.

We're available to answer any questions and provide recommendations for the area. Other than that, we'll be doing our own thing, working in our home offices during the day and cooking or gardening in the evening.
We decided to become hosts because we love meeting new people and living in a world where people are kind and trustworthy. So far, it is panning out!
One important note: if you love, love, love your air conditioning in the summer, you won't love our house. It cools off nicely in the evenings and mornings, but it gets hot upstairs in the middle of the day. Downstairs is always comfortable.

Please enjoy yourself and treat our home as you would your own. This is our full-time residence.
My profile photo is with my husband Chris, celebrating our 12-year anniversary at Boulder's Flagstaff House restaurant. On a normal day, you'll find us trying out a new recipe at home, enjoying the bounty of Chris's organic backyard garden, and eating on the back deck.
We love traveling and meeting new friends, so we're very excited to host you in our home. We prefer to trust people's good nature and have had great experiences with house swaps in the last few years, including a week in Madison, WI and ten months in Maui! We both work from home and will be here to help you plan your visit, if you have questions.
So far, our two favorite trips include our honeymoon bike tour through Tuscany and Provence a few years back and our trek in Nepal. Perhaps we'll design our next adventure around people we meet through airbnb!
